Dorian Block joined the Division of Health Policy in 2010, following seven years of work as a journalist. Most recently, Dorian was a staff writer for the New York Daily News, where she covered a wide range of issues, including courts, crime, immigration, religion, politics and community development. She brings to NYAM an understanding of NYC government and a rich knowledge of the city's neighborhoods. Previously, Dorian wrote for The Boston Globe and The Eagle-Tribune, both in Massachusetts. She holds a BA in American Studies from Brandeis University and an MS from Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism, where she was a fellow at the Stabile Center for Investigative Journalism. At NYAM, Dorian is is the lead staff person for the Age-friendly NYC Commission and leads implementation of major AF-NYC initiatives, including Aging Improvement Districts.
