Staff Profile: Shirley Cumberbatch

Shirley Cumberbatch
Research Associate, Center for Evaluation and Applied Research, Center for Urban Epidemiologic Studies

Shirley Cumberbatch has been working at NYAM for the past five years and has over twenty years of outreach experience, primarily focused on HIV and substance abuse. She possesses certificates in HIV/AIDS testing and harm reduction techniques, phlebotomy, and is an OASAS-certified Prevention Professional.  Prior to working at NYAM, Shirley coordinated social service programs at ADAPT and FROST’D, non-profit organizations offering services in Brooklyn and Manhattan.  Additionally, she supervised a street-outreach program at FROST’D that provided night-time services to homeless and substance abusing populations.  She is on the boards of the Interfaith Assembly on Homelessness and Housing, the United Way of NY, and Beacon Community Development Corporation.
