Staff Profile: Kathleen O'Donnell

Kathleen O'Donnell, MPH, MBA, MA
Senior Vice President, Finance and Administration

Kathleen O’Donnell is Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration at the Academy. She is responsible for leading the financial and administrative operations of the Academy including the Conference Center, Information Technology, Business Office, Grants Administration, Human Resources, and Building Operations.

Prior to joining the Academy, Ms. O'Donnell spent over twenty years in leadership at Columbia University Medical Center, most recently as Vice President & Senior Associate Dean for Clinical Administration. Her strategic, financial and operations management experience at Columbia focused on oversight and support of clinical administration, clinical program development, faculty practice and related support services. Much of this work was done in collaboration with such affiliated hospital partners as New York Presbyterian, Harlem, St. Luke’s Roosevelt, and others.

Throughout her career, Ms. O’Donnell served on numerous health care related Boards in such areas as Medicaid managed care, diagnostic & treatment facilities, medical malpractice insurance, ambulatory care, human resources, and physician organization. She currently provides pro-bono consulting assistance to an HIV/AIDS treatment and research program in Rwanda.

Ms. O’Donnell has a Masters of Public Health and an MBA degree from Columbia University, as well as a Masters Degree in International Relations from The Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy.
