Dear Members of the NYAM Community:
Welcome to NYAM's newly redesigned website! A very intensive year-long process has involved critical input from members of the staff, Fellows, NYAM partners, and outside constituents, all of whom shared the common goal of a more interactive and engaging website and one that can add to our goal of creating and sharing knowledge and effective practice.
Fundamental to our redesign is the provision of easily accessible documents from our library's historical collections and grey literature service; access to our policy statements and public testimony around critical issues related to our work; key news and information about the many NYAM events we host each year; and the full complement of services that NYAM offers, including program evaluations, video production services, and space rentals for conferences and private events.
Additionally, we have created a social media component that will allow NYAM to expand its communications capabilities through Facebook, YouTube, Vimeo, and Twitter – all new and exciting opportunities to build our community and widen our impact. Through the new site, members of the NYAM community will also have an opportunity to participate in interactive advocacy campaigns.
In the coming months, NYAM Fellows and Sections will have an opportunity to build their profiles and create and participate in knowledge networks and exchange, an important feature that will bring our 2,000-plus membership closer and allow us to tap into your expertise and experience more directly.
The success of our site at helping NYAM meet its goals to advance urban health will depend on you. We welcome your feedback as we continue to improve this site.
Sincerely,
Jo Ivey Boufford
President
