We are seeking a Web Producer to work within the Office of Development & Communications. The qualified candidate will understand the programs and research of the Academy to effectively design the website for the best use of technology for advancement of the Academy’s visibility. The candidate will have a unique mix of design capabilities and strategies to attract new and encourage old visitors. Reporting directly to the Director of Communications, the Web Manager also will work closely with departmental Directors and staff to ensure accurate and timely content, and adherence to the look and flow of the main website consistent with branding.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work with Academy staff to develop strategies for maximum web visibility for Academy programs, events and research
• Creates and manages multimedia content including Flash elements, audio slideshows, video and audio files
• Produce and maintain multimedia presentations, blogs, wikis, intranet
• Produce and maintain digital media content, including text, audio, video, digital photography and flash
• Prepare digital media content for syndication on content partner websites
• Work with the Communications to help develop online strategy and tactics for specific Academy events and projects

Education/Experience:

• Online writing experience
• Graphics creation and optimization
• Multimedia production experience
• Experience with web Content Management Systems
• News writing, reporting and/or copy editing experience strongly preferred
• Interest in information architecture, user interfaces and website usability including familiarity and/or interest in Web 2.0 trends and technologies, such as social networking, tagging, blogs, RSS
• Experience with website analytics
• Experience with Search and Search Engine Optimization
• Preferred experience in XHTML, Javascript, CSS, Photoshop, etc.
• Bachelor’s degree and 2 -3 years experience in Internet/New Media production.
• Ability to work independently, move projects from conceptual stages to launch, and handle multiple and often competing deadlines
