Assistant Director, Development
Caryn Teitelbaum is the Assistant Director of Development at The New York Academy of Medicine. Caryn brings to the Academy a wealth of fundraising experience and a commitment to public health and addressing the needs of underserved communities. As the Grants Manager at the Children’s Museum of Manhattan and Institutional Giving Coordinator at the Food Bank For New York City, she was engaged in foundation, corporate, and government fundraising activities across the spectrum of development activities including prospect research, public and private grant writing and reporting, and project management. In both positions, she advocated for stronger health policies, in particular those that address obesity for urban populations. Caryn holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the Cornell University School of Human Ecology and a Master of Public Administration degree from the Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service at New York University.
