Joyce A. Leahy is the Vice President for Legal Affairs and General Counsel at Maimonides Medical Center, a 705 bed tertiary care hospital located in Brooklyn, New York. Ms. Leahy also serves as Maimonides’ Privacy Officer. In that role she chairs the institution’s HIPAA Task Force. She also chairs the Privacy Committee of the Brooklyn Health Information Exchange (BHIX), a regional health information organization, of which the Medical Center is a participant. Prior to joining Maimonides in 1987, Ms. Leahy was as an associate at the law firm of DeForest & Duer (now Anderson, Kill & Olick), where she focused on health law and litigation. Ms. Leahy graduated from the New York University of School of Law and Cum Laude from Harvard University.
Dr. Eugenia Siegler
Professor of Clinical Medicine
Weill Cornell Medical College
Dr. Siegler received her AB in Biochemical Sciences from Princeton University and her MD from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She pursued an Internal Medicine Residency and was a Chief Resident at Bellevue and Tisch Hospitals. She completed her training with a Fellowship in Geriatrics and General Internal Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania.
She has served as a member of the faculty at the University of Pennsylvania and as Chief of Geriatrics at Brooklyn Hospital Center. Dr. Siegler is presently Professor of Clinical Medicine at the Weill Cornell Medical College and the Medical Director of the Geriatrics Inpatient Service at the Weill/Cornell Campus of the New York Presbyterian Hospital.
