Healthy Environments Across Generations

Where and how we live, eat, work, play, and socialize throughout life profoundly influence our physical and mental health. A century of change in our food, built, chemical, natural, psychosocial, and socioeconomic environments is fueling dramatic increases in diseases and conditions across the lifespan. We need to develop innovative, systems-oriented and intergenerational approaches that increase resiliency and reduce disease and disability.

Please join Peter Whitehouse, MD, PhD, with The Intergenerational School; Rick Moody of the AARP Office of Academic Affairs; Donna Butts of Generations United; Phil Landrigan, MD, MSc with the Children’s Environmental Health Center at Mt. Sinai Medical Center; Natalie Jeremijenko from the NYU Environmental Health Clinic; and many other leaders representing different disciplines, stages of life, and sectors for this science-based, interactive and creative event.”

The conference is designed to:

• Catalyze innovative approaches towards a systems-based approach to health across the lifespan;
• Identify key intervention points and crosscutting solutions to help reverse rising disease trajectories;
• Develop programmatic and policy recommendations/models that reflect an integrated approach to wellness; and
• Create an ongoing network for collaboration to build healthier communities for all.

This conference is not an end unto itself, but a stepping stone for building a health-focused, multi-generational movement. We invite you to bring your energy and ideas to New York to help make our collective future a healthy one.
