NYAM's Culture, Humanities, and the Arts Series Presents: WINTERKILL

Date: May 19, 2013
Time: 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Sponsored by: NYAM and Voza Rivers/New Heritage Theater Group

Location: The New York Academy of Medicine, 1216 Fifth Avenue at 103rd Street, New York, NY 10029

WINTERKILL, written and performed by Denise Flemming, is a tour de force theatrical experience that divulges hidden personalities buried in an abusive past. The play captures a psychological illness rarely discussed in communities of color. And Ms. Flemming’s riveting portrayal reveals that the abuse we experience as young people truly affects us for a lifetime.

This performance will be followed by a panel discussion with Denise Flemming and certified health practitioners.

Denise Flemming is a Chicago, lL native. She began her training at Hull House Theatre in Chicago and later created WINTERKILL for her Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Southern California.
