Preparing Nurses for Board Governance: Creating a Path to a Seat at the Table

Program Overview:
Upon the completion of this program, the participant will be equipped with the strategies and tools needed to plan and navigate a path to a board appointment

Program Objectives:
1)  Discuss the need for nurses to move into board roles
2)  Review the essentials of board governance
3)  Compare and contrast nonprofit, governmental and corporate boards
4)  Identify and analyze a “target board”
5)  Develop approaches to “branding YOU” to maximize: contacts, networks, mentors
