Associate Members
Medical students, residents, and post-residency fellows, as well as graduate students and recent (within four years) master's degree recipients in health care or related fields, are eligible to apply for Associate Membership in The New York Academy of Medicine.

Candidates for Associate Membership should have clear potential for the scholarly pursuit of careers in health, medicine, health science, or related areas, particularly in affiliation with a college, university, hospital, community organization, or recognized institution engaged in such work. Applying to become an Associate Member requires submission of a letter of recommendation from the Program Director or Dean, or current employer if the candidate is not a student or trainee, attesting to the candidate's character and promise for professional attainment in health care or related fields. Candidates are also required to submit a completed application form, which must include information outlining career interests and future goals.

Selection as an Associate Member provides a unique opportunity for aspiring health professionals to become more involved in issues relevant to the health of the public.

Benefits of Associate Membership include:

Appointment as an Associate Member may be for a maximum period of seven years following receipt of a post-baccalaureate degree.

Annual dues for Associate Member are $20.00 for students and $40.00 for all others.
