Dr. Abright is Director of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Mount Sinai Services Elmhurst Hospital Center and Director of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Fellowship Training Program in Child and Psychiatry at Elmhurst. He holds academic appointments as Professor of Psychiatry at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and Adjunct Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at New York Medical College and maintains a private practice in Manhattan. Prior to his current positions, he served as Chief of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at St. Vincent’s Hospital Manhattan and Director of the New York Medical College Residency Training Program in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at St. Vincent’s Hospital Manhattan.

He is a Fellow of the New York Academy of Medicine, past President of the New York Council on Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, a Life Fellow of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and a Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and has served as an Examiner for the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology for board examinations in psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry and as a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. His presentations and publications have focused on mood disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder and other key topics in child and adolescent psychiatry. His work as an educator and clinician has been recognized by awards from major professional organizations and listings in New York Magazine’s guide to “Best Doctors in New York City” and Castle Connolly’s Guides to the “Best Doctors in the New York Metro Area” and “America’s Top Doctors.
