Physicians who are graduates of an accredited medical school and have completed their graduate training are eligible to apply for Membership. They shall show evidence of strong performance in one or several of the physician's multiple roles, such as caregiver, teacher, scientist, administrator or citizen. This shall be evidenced by such criteria as specialty certification, involvement in professional organizations and outstanding potential for clinical, administrative, teaching, administrative, or research contributions to the health-related fields.
Non-physician candidates must be graduates of an academic institution and have completed graduate education and certifications as appropriate to their field to be eligible for membership. They shall show evidence of strong performance in a health-related field and outstanding potential for clinical, administrative, teaching, administrative, or research contributions to the health-related fields.
All candidates for membership must show evidence of personal integrity and evidence of their commitment to the mission of NYAM.
Membership provides an opportunity for health professionals to become more involved in the work of NYAM.
