General Support
Efforts by the Academy to improve the health of the public through research, education, and advocacy are primarily supported by grants from and contracts with public agencies, and grants from private sources. However, additional funds--critical to the continued strength and growth of the divisions--must be raised each year.
The Academy depends greatly on tax-deductible gifts from individuals like you. Critical among these are unrestricted general support gifts that support new directions in established programs and the formation of new programs.
General support contributions help ensure that the Academy has the capacity to meet the challenges it faces in the rapidly evolving worlds of health research, health practice, and advocacy on behalf of those most in need of comprehensive and compassionate care. The areas in which these gifts help to make a difference include medical and policy-oriented research, medical education and training, and advocacy that seeks improved health care practices for the benefit of urban populations.
To make a general support gift to the Academy, see Ways to Give or make a gift right away with our online giving form.
The New York Academy of Medicine is a 501(c)3 non-profit organizations. All contributions are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
