Since the first issue of the Grey Literature Report, the most common question people have been asking me is "What is Grey Literature?" If you are wondering, follow the link and find out.
Searching the complete NYAM Collection of Grey Literature. To search the New York Academy of Medicine's full collection of grey literature, there is no better way than to do a keyword search in the Academy's Online Catalog (plans to switch to a web-based interface are in progress). Our grey literature is integrated into our general librarycollection. In the future, we may extract our collection of grey literature document records into a separate database. However, for now, keyword searching on a subject like "medicaid managed care" or "children's health insurance program" will largely result in retrieving grey literature documents, as these subjects are handled mostly in grey literature formats such as policy documents and technical reports. All of the items found in the Grey Literature Reports are added to our catalog as well as to OCLC, complete with their web addresses when available.
This issue features documents from several organizations, featuring many reports from the U.S. General Accounting Office and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Enjoy!
