Please Consider Supporting Relief Efforts in Haiti

We have all been following the devastating impact of the major earthquake that recently struck Haiti, especially its capital city, killing tens of thousands of men, women and children, and injuring and displacing hundreds of thousands of others. In the short term, many victims are in dire need of medicine, clean water, food, and temporary shelter. In the long term, recovery and reconstruction will be major challenges. While I know many of our Fellows and Members are already directly involved in this effort, the NYAM Community would like to add our voice to encourage you to support important human relief and rebuilding efforts in Haiti in whatever way you feel you can, by donating funds or contributing your time and expertise to existing organizations that are already on the ground in the country. Shortly, we will be reaching out again to the NYAM community to identify individuals with direct experience or current program affiliations who are interested in helping us identify how NYAM may be most helpful in addressing the medium and long term priorities for the relief and rebuilding effort both in Haiti and with our own Haitian community in New York.
