An Asthma conference presented by Councilmember Philip Reed and the East Harlem Asthma Working Group was convened at the New York Academy. The event featured opening remarks by Academy President Dr. Jeremiah Barondess and Councilman Reed, followed by intensive, policy oriented workshops on housing, transportation and environment, education and head start as well as health care and medical issues. The event was part of a feature by the WB 11 television news at 10pm and 6am.
