What: Educators, child care experts, policymakers and doctors will listen to experts from across the country discuss the links between literacy, learning, and the developing brain. The conference will highlight the expanded role of primary care pediatricians in supporting parents to enhance their children's health and behavioral development by incorporating advice about reading in their pediatric practice. Media are invited to attend.

The New York Academy of Medicine with support from the New York State Heath Foundation released a new report, Federal Health Care Reform in New York State: A Population Health Perspective.
This report identifies opportunities that build on both the Patient Protection and Affordable Health Care Act (ACA) and New York’s ongoing efforts toward improving the health of its 19 million residents.
