NEW YORK CITY, Nov. 6 ??? The New York Academy of Medicine will host its Annual Meeting of the Fellows on the evening of Wednesday, Nov. 28. Academy President Jo Ivey Boufford, MD, will give the keynote address on “The State of the Academy,” discussing the institution’s future direction and the substantial progress in the strategic planning process.
The program will include the annual business meeting of the Fellows, the induction of Fellows and recognition of trustees elected this year, and tribute will be paid to Fellows who are celebrating their 30th anniversary of fellowship.
The reception begins at 5:30 pm, and the program begins at 6:15 pm. A dinner will follow for new fellows, trustees and 30 year Fellows. The New York Academy of Medicine with support from the New York State Heath Foundation released a new report, Federal Health Care Reform in New York State: A Population Health Perspective.
This report identifies opportunities that build on both the Patient Protection and Affordable Health Care Act (ACA) and New York’s ongoing efforts toward improving the health of its 19 million residents.
