NEW YORK CITY, Feb. 28-The New York Academy of Medicine (NYAM) is proud to announce that the Medical Library Association has awarded the Library's Grey Literature Project the 2008 Louise Darling Medal for Distinguished Achievement in Collection Development in the Health Sciences.
Grey literature consists of any documentary material that is not commercially published and is typically composed of technical reports, working papers, business documents, and conference proceedings.
The Grey Literature Project at NYAM is comprised of materials from over 700 organizations in the area(s) of health services research, health policy, and public health culled by a team of library members. The award recognizes the collection development work done in these subject areas.
The Grey Literature Report is NYAM's bimonthly publication from the Library alerting readers to new grey literature publications. It has a mailing list of over 1200 subscribers.

The New York Academy of Medicine with support from the New York State Heath Foundation released a new report, Federal Health Care Reform in New York State: A Population Health Perspective.
This report identifies opportunities that build on both the Patient Protection and Affordable Health Care Act (ACA) and New York’s ongoing efforts toward improving the health of its 19 million residents.
