This past summer, the NYAM Board of Trustees welcomed Chris Forbes, President & CEO of Knovel, as the newest Trustee. Forbes, an entrepreneur with expertise in business-to-business paid content services, finance and operations, will serve on the Finance Committee of the Board. Knovel is a Web-based application integrating technical information with analytical and search tools for engineers. Knovel has more than 600 customers worldwide including 73 of the Fortune 500 companies and more than 300 leading universities.
Forbes previously served as president of William Andrew Publishing, where he leveraged his background in finance, publishing, acquisitions, and management to boost William Andrew's market share in technical reference publishing. Before joining William Andrew, he founded and was managing director of Toronto Dominion Securities in New York City.
Forbes aims to foster innovation and growth in the technology industry. He is currently an investor and Director of ARC90 Labs, Kindling LLC and Readability LLC.
In addition to his appointment on the Board, Forbes serves as the Chairman of the Board of Change for Kids, a foundation that brings arts, literacy, and fitness programs to New York City's most under-funded schools, and is a member of the Young Presidents' Organization (YPO). Forbes earned a Bachelor's in Finance from the University of Toronto.

The New York Academy of Medicine with support from the New York State Heath Foundation released a new report, Federal Health Care Reform in New York State: A Population Health Perspective.
This report identifies opportunities that build on both the Patient Protection and Affordable Health Care Act (ACA) and New York’s ongoing efforts toward improving the health of its 19 million residents.
