The New York Academy of Medicine supports policies that advance the organization's three current priorities: to create environments in cities that support healthy aging; to strengthen systems that prevent disease and promote the public's health; and to implement interventions that eliminate health disparities. Drawing on the rich body of research created by NYAM staff and others, NYAM works with policymakers to provide a solid evidence base for legislation at the city, state and federal level.
Below are examples of recent testimony, memorandum, and letters that NYAM has submitted or joined in other organizations in submitting to advance the health of the public.
