Historical Note
The Lenox Medical and Surgical Society was established in 1885 with the objectives of "the advancement of Medical and Surgical knowledge, and the promotion of good fellowship among the members." Meetings were held 9 months out of the year at the residences of members; papers and clinical cases were presented and discussed.

Scope and Content
The main component of the collection is a volume of manuscript minutes, with some documents, such as the constitution, glued in. A small number of loose items such as printed by-laws and correspondence are also included.
Arrangement of Collection
1 volume of minutes dated 1885-1905, followed by a folder of loose items, arranged chronologically.
