Danielle Laraque-Arena has been named scholar-in-residence at the New York Academy of Medicine. She has been a fellow of the academy since 2000 and has served on its Committee on Admissions and Membership.

Most recently, Dr. Laraque-Arena served as President and Health System CEO of State University of New York Upstate Medical University. Previously she has held other administrative roles such as chair of the department of pediatrics and vice president of Maimonides Infants & Children’s Hospital of Brooklyn; chief of the Division of General Pediatrics at Mount Sinai Medical Center; and medical director and later director of the Pediatric Resource Center at Harlem Hospital.
