Luisa  Cardenas,  MPH

Luisa Cárdenas is a Program Officer at the Center for Evaluation and Applied Research (CEAR). Her projects utilize a combination of quantitative and qualitative research methods and focus on a wide range of issues including community-clinical linkages, chronic disease management, infection prevention and control, and maternal and child health. Prior to joining the Academy, Ms. Cárdenas was a Fellow for the Puerto Rico Interprofessional Education & Service Learning Pilot Fellowship Program at the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health. In this role, she supported the development of a community health needs assessment focused on the burden of childhood asthma and the household-level impacts of Hurricanes Irma and Maria in el Caño Martin Peña, Puerto Rico. She also worked as a Research Assistant at MDRC, where she evaluated workforce development and education programs across the country. Ms. Cárdenas holds a BA from Brown University and an MPH from the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health.
